I just received an email from Vlerick management school proposing me to renew my alumni  membership before sept 23rd so I could get the alumni directory. Well last year I used my alumni directory in order to discuss my new business competences on the Media sector.  I got few responses. The MBA network is not so strong for me.  Twitter and linkedin have worked better for me...

I have a ipad1 and Mireille loves her Samsung Galaxy Tab (10 inches). Both are great !

I manage to do most business stuff on my ipad, even if sometimes I have to email myself my own documents. You ll need a few cheap apps like goodreader to exploit the potential. The ipad is simple to use and configure. You need itunes sometimes but it gives also an automatic backup, to be replaced by icloud in the future.

Since we have the galaxy, i could compare. As a geek I prefer the galaxy (android gives me a better control on whats happening and usb connectivity is better). Also I found a lot of free games for the kids making that they prefer the galaxy (paid games on ipad are free on android, ex : angry birds)
Also i use google a lot so android is better integrated with your google account. Problem with the galaxy 10 inch is that apple coul stopnthe galaxy sales in europe except NL, I think...

There are other tablets out there a good site to compare is tabletcenter.be. They have a shop in Antwerp that you can visit.
If you want cheaper, i would have a look at the chinese huawei but its a 7 inch.

The other things to consider:
- do you want something easy to carry ? Than 7 inches
- want to read a4 documents ? Than 10 inches
- I recommend you to take 3g and Mobile vikings (12 eur/month)
- wifi only and 10 inches, android, look at archos

If you are not sure, you will never be disappointed by a ipad.
The galaxy is very very close but different.

Vaut mieux être "proefkonijn" que "poepkonijn" !?

Un matin on s'étonne que  l'ordinateur portable d'un collègue est resté toute la nuit à sa place.  Ça n'est pas son habitude d'arriver si tôt.

Un autre collègue arrive et lance :
- l'ascenseur 3 est en panne depuis hier. 

On se regarde.  Tout le monde pense : "serait-il bloqué dans l'ascenseur 3 depuis hier ?"

Finalement ça nétait pas la raison.

Du neuvième étage chez un assureur on aperçoit un accident en bas dans la rue. 
Les pompiers ont répandu du sable devant une voiture sur un passage clouté. On espère que ce n'était pas un piéton qui s'est fait écraser.

Et l'assureur d'ajouter :
- est-ce qu'il est assuré chez nous ?

Dans le bus, on entend un clac. Une fille crie son étonnement. Une bouteille de vin rosé est sur le sol, le vin à coulé de la moitié du bus jusqu'à l'avant.

Le chauffeur s'arrête et demande :
- à qui est cette bouteille ?

Tout le bus empeste le vin rosé bon marché.

Un homme n'a pas l'air net.  Il regarde le sol.  Il peine à se tenir droit sur son siège. Le chauffeur l'interpelle en Néerlandais :
- dat zijt ge niet zeker, de enige hier zat als een patat.

(- c'est pas toi sûrement, le seul ici qui est bourré comme la Pologne )

L'homme ne bronche pas.  Je pense qu'il ne comprend pas. 

L'arrêt suivant,  il descend en titubant; il à trop honte pour rester là.

Dans le bus, la sonnette de demande d'arrêt retentit.  Le bus stoppe comme demandé. Mais personne ne descend.  La conductrice râle en Néerlandais puis en Français.
- on à sonné ! Si quelqu'un s'est trompé, c'est pas grave.  Il s'excuse et on continue.  Maintenant j'attend que quelqu'un s'excuse avant de répartir.

Personne ne répond. 30 secondes passent. Un jeune s'écrie en Néerlandais.
- allez, celui qui a sonné, dis le ! Je veux arriver à l'heure à mon travail !

Silence. 

Encore quelques secondes à l'arrêt. 

Finalement le bus continue car sinon il sera aussi en retard.  La conductrice grommelle en flamand.
