If you are looking for a simple solution to edit a text file that you have on your computer with your iPad, here is a solution I figured out this morning:

1. Upload the text file to your Dropbox

2. Download it with Goodreader. Goodreader has a basic text editor included that will allow you to edit the text.

3. To get the text back, I guess you will have to email it to yourself...
