Received by the post today : a Mediamarkt brochure with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10" at 600€. The Pros of this tablet: - Android 3.0, an open system that will let you do more with your tablet. Mainly you will have much more control of your device and - 3G which will allow you to use it everywhere - Samsung's "finition" and quality The cons - The price is not competitive enough against the iPad1 WiFi 3G 32Gb whihc is at 549$ (not such a big difference) - No USB !! Since several months we see iPad alternatives (Tablets) at Retailers. Here in Belgium I have seen some at Photo Hall (Archos, POV MOBII), at FNAC (Toshiba Android Tablet). Here is an other example here at Macro. Interesting : it runs Windows7 Home Premium.
Would you buy an alternative tablet ? (non iPad) At which price ? Why ?  Amazon is screwing me. I setup 70% royalty in KDP and they give me 35%.

I have just re-logged on an old(er) Ubuntu today to perform 'With linux only possible tasks'. I had been using that machine for more than a year. After that I had a new one so I don't use it so much now. What strikes me : the desktop is not optimized to my work anymore. With time we switch tools, we visit other websites... So if I wanted to use again that machine and be productive I should spend half a day upgrading applications here and there, getting new bookmarks... Even if you do a lot in the cloud, you want to manipulate your cloud services with toolbars and other small clients. I realize how much time I spend in keeping our laptops up to date... It's much more than we think.  C'était le baptême de mon filleul Célestin aujourd'hui ! J'étais content d'être là pour lui cette après-midi.
