This weekend, I bougt and read two books :

• Ken Blanchard - The Secret : What Great Leaders Know --- and Do.
• Comment devenir chef - et le rester - en dix le?ons (Broch?) --- Guide du cynisme en entreprise. (How to become chief - and to remain it - in ten lessons --- Cynicism's guide to the entreprise)

The two books are very complementary. The first one expains how you can become a gread leader by developing your skills in a positive way.

The second one is a very cynical one. It tries to explain the ugly strategies that you should apply if you want to climb the social ladder of your company. An overview of the chapter contents is self explanatory :

• DEVENIR CHEF - BECOME THE BOSS
  • Tisser sa toile - Build your Network
  • Cloner son chef - Clone your boss
  • Eliminer les concurrents - eliminate competitors
• RESTER CHEF - Remain the boss
  • Prendre les attributs du chef - Take the boss attributes
  • Ma?triser son temps et celui des autres - Master your time and other's
  • Organiser sa cour - Organise your court
  • D?l?guer pour mieux r?gner - Divide and Conquer
  • Ecouter pour mieux manipuler - Listen to better manipulate
  • Prendre la parole pour pouvoir prendre le pouvoir - Talk to take power
  • Se servir de son chef pour devenir chef - Use your boss to become the boss

After reading the two books (only 120 + 125 pages !!!), I think have learned a lot about leadership : I recognise the good and the bad things of leadership and how people have become leaders.

Now, will it make of me a leader ?
