The KAOS ((Knowledge Acquisition in autOmated Specification) approach consists of a formal framework based on temporal logic and AI refinement techniques where all terms such as goal and state are consistently and rigorously defined. The main emphasis of KAOS is on the formal proof that the requirements match the goals that were defined for the envisioned system.
